Belle Meade Plantation has a new tour! This is a companion tour to our mansion tour. The first African-Americans were brought to Belle Meade in 1807, and their presence was vital to the existence of the property and the family until 1906. These men and women were here from enslavement to freedom. They endured, and we shall honor them by telling their story. Nearly a hundred years of their history is explored through research of primary sources. Join us as we explore their existence throughout the history of Belle Meade Plantation on their Journey to Jubilee.
Will take place outside and inside the Mansion. Involves walking and several sets of stairs.
