Junior Pioneer Camp
Experience what life was like on the frontier in the early 1800′s. Campers will enjoy games, crafts, activities, and chores to see what it was like to run a successful frontier farm. Spinning, weaving, blacksmithing, gardening, sewing, woodworking, animal husbandry and so much more…will make this a week to remember!
Age 7-9 years old: June 17-21 (9:00am-1:00pm)
Civil War Soldier Camp
Costumed Interpreters bring to life the experiences of Civil War soldiers in camp and on the battlefield. Campers will participate in military drills, weapons demonstrations, games, activities, and experience elements of a soldier’s life. Campers study and reenact battle tactics to help them understand Civil War battles and their outcomes. On the last day of camp friends and family are invited to attend the drill and dress parade and each camper will fire a reproduction rifled musket.
Ages 7-9 years old: June 10-14 (9:00-1:00pm), June 24-28 (9:00-1:00pm), July 15-19 (9:00-1:00pm),
Ages 10-12 years old: June 17-21 (9:00-1:00pm),
Equine Camp
If you love horses, this is the camp for you! This is a camp for beginners that will give each camper the pleasure of being able to handle a horse with safety and confidence while instilling all of the things a good rider needs to know. Campers will participate in activities and games that can be played with a horse and at the barn. Campers will also learn to lead their horse by command and will participate in a halter show to earn their blue ribbon! This week is full of games, activities, crafts and lots of fun times with our horses at the barn!
Ages 7-9 years old: June 10-14 (9:00-1:00pm), July 15-19 (9:00-1:00pm)
Ages 10-12 years old: June 24-28 (9:00-1:00pm)
Archeology Camp
Ready to dig for the past? This camp will take place on the site of one of Belle Meade’s many original farm buildings and will expose campers to methods and theories of American Archeology. Archaeologists and Belle Meade camp staff will lead campers in a mini-field school. Set-up an excavation unit, shovel, screen, bag, and process artifacts. All tools and supplies will be provided.
Ages 7-12 years old: July 15-19 (1:00-4:00pm)
Indian Camp
Belle Meade’s most popular camp. Where campers cultivate a respect for Native American Heritage through games, crafts, music, storytelling, and observations of nature. A full-size tipi serves as home-base for this fun-filled camp!
All Indian camp sessions are from 9:00am-1:00pm. After camp care is provided from 1:00-4:00pm for an additional $100 for the week.
Age 4 years: June 10-14, July 8-12, July 22-26
*campers must turn 4 years old before February 1, 2013Age 5 & 6 years: (June 17-21, June 24-28, July 15-19)
*campers must have attended at least one year of preschool or kindergarten.
Important Camp Information
*Camp Enrollment: Opens February 1, online registeration only. (camps filled-first-come-first-served)
*Camp Fees: $200 per camper
*Camp Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am-1:00pm morning sessions/ 1:00-4:00pm afternoon sessions
*After camp care is provided for Indian campers only. After camp care is from 1:00-4:00pm. Cost: $100 per camper/ per week.
*Lunch: Campers bring a sack lunch from home!
*Snack: A snack is provided each day.
*Dress: Comfortable clothes that can get dirty…NO Flip-flops allowed!
*Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made 2 weeks prior to camp date are entitled a full refund minus a $75 processing fee.
