Fall In!
Civil War at Belle Meade Plantation

The American Civil War had a strong influence on many Tennessee families living during the mid-nineteenth century.  The Hardings of Belle Meade were no exception.  Fall In! Civil War at Belle Meade is a program that invites you and your home-schooler to discover the Harding family’s involvement and experiences in the war and its aftermath.  This tour focuses on life during the Civil War with discussion centering on Middle Tennessee. Students will “Fall In” and join our army for the day as they participate in nineteenth century letter-writing, signal flags, telegraphs, a mini-field school, artillery school, ambulance corps, and so much more.  For more information about this and other Home School History programs at Belle Meade Historic Site, visit http://bellemeadeplantation.com/home-school/.
