Belle Meade Plantation Civil War Book Club – This Book Club meets via Facebook for a discussion monthly so you can join from anywhere in the world! Facebook discussions are posted on the last Monday of each month, but you can join the discussion at any time. We also host  meetings onsite throughout the year on the dates listed below  For onsite meetings please check in at the Visitor Center, when you arrive to get directions to meeting location. A Woman’s Civil War:  A Diary, with Reminiscences of the War, from 1862. by:  Cornelia P. McDonald – Mrs. Cornelia McDonald Granberry  will bring artifacts to show as well as give a presentation. (onsite date TBA)

The Maps of the Wilderness:  An Atlas of the Wilderness Campaign. May 2-7, 1864. by:  Dr. Bradley Gottfried – The author will be able to come and do a program for us this month and participate on Facebook. (onsite date TBA)

The Illustrated Gettysburg Reader:  An Eyewitness History of the Civil’sGreatest Battle by:  Dr. Rod Gragg – The author will may be able to come in person or be able to join the Facebook discussion online. (onsite date TBA)

This Republic of Suffering:  Death and the American Civil War by:  Dr. DrewGilpin Faust – Join us for a viewing of the great PBS program “Death and the Civil War,” which is based on Dr. Faust’s book. (onsite date TBA)

November –
Stonewall’s Prussian Mapmaker:  The Journals of Captain Oscar Hinrichs by:  Richard B. Williams – The author will  to contribute to our Facebook discussion.
December –
The Golden Age of Battlefield Preservation:  The Decade of the 1890’s and the Establishment of America’s First Five Military Parks. by:  Dr. Timothy B. Smith – The author will contribute to our on-line Facebook discussion.
